You Missed Good Stuff: Here’s the Infographic from The Sports PR Summit

At Sports Media Challenge we savor trade conferences to push our thinking, validate our strategies and campaign executions, and to make new connections. But honestly, after 30 years in business there is a staleness about much of the content & yawning attendees. It’s not unusual for me to question the ROI after a lack luster outing. But I also realize that many people aren’t aware of the best in breed conferences, can’t afford the price tag, or possibly, the time away from the office.

As a former television news reporter in a past life, I blister my fingers tweeting nuggets from conferences and challenge my co-workers to do the same. We’ve had people literally from around the globe thank us for virtually taking them there, and providing the latest updates in 140 characters, a snap, gram or video post.

As a result, we’ve committed to delivering a series, “What You Missed” to capture the best, brightest, quirkiest, and even lamest insights and experiences from the conferences we attend in 2016.

The following is the first “What You Missed” infographic encapsulating this week’s Sports PR Summit presented by The Players Tribune. Hint: milk toast wasn’t on the menu! At the top of the agenda was racism in sports and we wrap up our infographic with something really disturbing that I heard in the hall between sessions: North Carolina’s new and controversial bathroom law that squarely confronts the rights of the LBGT community is shutting out some elite potential interns out of the Tar Heel State.
Please share the following infographic. Let us know @sportsmediachallenge what you think and what conferences or topics you hope we’ll cover throughout the year. Download the Infographic here.
