Agents charging high school and college student-athletes 30% for a NIL deal is highway robbery. A pro athlete pays 20% or less.
Some of the athlete accepts it what’s the problem.
Likely the student athletes don’t understand the landscape and/or how to negotiate the fee down. When you never could earn from your NIL, kids (and they are kids) are wowed by the concept or more than likely blinded by someone offering to pay them for use of the personal brand.
Colleges offer University 101 courses because the jump to college is a dramatic leap and many are 1st generation college students without a frame of reference. The jump to marketing your brand can be equally layered with complexity and confusion.
