Gen Z College Students and Their Unique Mental Health Challenges

Just because they’re young doesn’t mean they don’t know what pressure or stress mean and everyone has heard (even if they don’t believe) that GenZ is experiencing skyrocketing rates of mental health issues.

Meet Gwyn, a junior nursing student at the University of Delaware and get her take on the challenges of the past academic year living through COVID realities. She and others are crossing their fingers and saying their prayers that the upcoming school year is drastically different.

Gwyn is one of twenty students from 15 colleges and universities that a Syracuse University Strategic research class followed closely to determine the impact of virtual learning on their well being. In this series we’ll share their firsthand accounts in video, audio and images. Thanks to professor Rebecca Ortiz of SU’s Newhouse Communications School and Advertising track for partnering with my WeRGenZ efforts and leading the in-depth research.
